Exhibition opening with the artist Woehrl at Tuol Sleng (23.02.2017)

The German Ambassador, Dr. Ingo Karsten, opened together with the Cambodian Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture, H.E. Chuch Phoeurn, a photo exhibition by the German artist Ann Christine Woehrl at the Tuol Sleng Genozid Memorial in Phnom Penh. The photographs show the places remembering the horror of Khmer Rouge period: the former S-21 prison, the killing fields, the UN-tribune in Phnom Penh and Pol Pot’s grave. The exhibition takes place at the Five Continents Museum in Munich at the same time and can be visited at Tuol Sleng during the next seven months. Within the framework of this cooperation, the director of the Tuol Sleng Museum, Mr. Chhay Visoth, has participated in the curator residence programme in Germany on the invitation of the Foreign Office.
