the German Embassy in Phnom Penh was reopened in 1993 thus taking up again the historic relations that existed between our two countries already three decades ago in the 1960s.

Today Cambodia is determined to step out of the shade of its past. It is a country on the move with impressive economic dynamics that has found its place in the regional partnership of ASEAN as well as in the international community as a whole.

Cambodia is a country that is highly attractive to tourists, last not least due to the world's famous temples of Angkor. More than 50.000 German tourists came to visit Cambodia last year. In the economic field, Germany is one of the most important importers of Cambodian textiles and garments. Moreover, Germany is a strong partner for economic development cooperation.

On this website we would like to provide you with information about the relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and Cambodia as well as about the embassy's responsibilities.
