Cambodia still is one of the least developed countries in the world. 27 percent of the population live below the poverty line. Malnutrition is a major challenge in Cambodia. The focal areas of Cambodian-German Development Cooperation are rural development and the reform and improvement of quality in the health care system.

Energy Efficiency Award 2011
Companies from trade and industry which have implemented innovative, exemplary measures to increase energy efficiency are invited to take part in the international Energy Efficiency Award 2011 competition. The competition is being held by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) - the German Energy Agency - in cooperation with Deutsche Messe. The prize money amounts to a total of 30,000 Euro.
