Major contract for German Company in developing the brewing industry in Cambodia
Ziemann Group supports Chip Mong Group in its expansion of the brewing
The renowned German manufacturer of brewing equipment and constructor of turnkey Brewery projects, Ziemann Group of Baden Würtemberg, has entered into business relations with the Chip Mong Group, Cambodia's market leader in cement, construction materials and steels which intends to further diversify into the brewing business. A contract for a turnkey brewing facility with an initial capacity of 1 million hectoliters and expandable to 2 million hl in a second stage was signed December 13, 2009 in the prescence of Minister for Industry, Mines and Energy H.E. Suy Sem and the German Ambassador to Cambodia, Frank M. Mann.
The total investment volume of this contract amounts to 60 million USD --, project implementation is scheduled for a record time of 15 months commencing January 2010.The new brewery will cover all areas from malt intake, brewhouse, process area until packaging and will be using most modern state-of-the-art technology. Cambodia brewmasters will be trained in Germany as well.
The German Ambassador highly welcomed the signing of this contract as an encouraging sign for the improving business climate between German and Cambodian partners. The volume of this contract will contribute to improve the overall picture of the bilateral trade relations which for long has resulted in a strong balance in favour of Cambodian exports to Germany in comparison to German exports to Cambodia. The contract is prove that German quality and high standard of technology have excellent chances to prevail when competing for private contracts in Cambodia the German Ambassador said.
